THE PROLONGED CRISIS OF NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY, AMASSOMA DEOS NOT WORTH THE BLOOD OR LIFE OF ANYBODY
The state government, school management and Amassoma people ought to apply maturity, wisdom in resolving their differences
All parties involved must shift grounds for students to return back to school
22/05/2018
I am appealing to the governor of Bayelsa State, his excellency, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson, the management of Niger delta university, Wilberforce Island, and the good people of Amassoma community to apply wisdom and maturity in arriving at a logical conclusion over the Polarised school crisis. As at this point, I'll advice that all parties involved must shift their grounds for our brothers and sisters to return back to school. The continual strike of Niger delta university has adverse effect on both parties
Of a truth, the state government has a bigger role to play in fostering lasting peace and solution to the agitations of the people and school management. Resorting to exertion of violence and force is not an option in bringing lasting solution to the prolonged strike of our state owned prestigious university. Let there be peace, tranquility, and collective bargain. Collective bargaining is the only way in resolving the prolonged strike of Niger delta university, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma Bayelsa State
Reliable information at my disposal has it that there is uproar and cacophony in Amassoma community this morning as a result of a combined team of police and military men who went to open the school gate. All parties involved in the strike must sheath their swords and shift grounds for the good of our students
I am Rt Hon Paul Okoriye,
Speaker of the first assembly, representing Sagbama constituency II, BFC
